Tribes donate equipment, supplies to Cardinal Point

Body

Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes representatives came to Cardinal Point Family Justice Center to deliver new forensic exam equipment and supplies.

“This is a huge milestone for Canadian County,” Cardinal Point CEO Karla Docter said.

“Currently, we do not have dedicated Sexual Assault Nurse Exam (SANE) or Domestic Violence Nurse Exam (DVNE) programming to meet the needs of our community. The result is that victims would have to travel to another county, or do not reach out for support because they feel like people wouldn’t understand or be able to help them.”

Stitt puts Gatz back as Secretary of Transportation

Body

OKLAHOMA CITY – Gov. Kevin Stitt last week reappointed Tim Gatz to his role as Secretary of Transportation, a Cabinet position awaiting Oklahoma Senate confirmation.

“This whole ordeal was nothing more than semantics,” said Gov. Stitt.

“Gatz started with me in 2019 as my go-to for all transportation matters, and he has remained in that role ever since. I’m glad I can restore his proper title. It’s unfortunate that a politically motivated waste of time and taxpayer dollars tried to distract from his work on behalf of Oklahomans.”
