Body

The storm will have to wait, at least for a bit.

Plans to start filming Twister 2 in El Reno, and in particular Jenks Simmons Field House, were pushed back a bit until dates can be found that don’t conflict with other already scheduled activities.

City councilwoman Amy Neathery requested a permit that would allow Universal Studios to begin production here be tabled until a May 23 special council meeting. She said El Reno Public Schools had a conflict with the timing of the planned film production. Council agreed to delay the request until the upcoming special meeting.

First built as Hensley’s and later becoming a Denny’s, the restaurant and nearby service station were leveled last week as the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes move forward with plans to one day develop the area.
