A U.S. federal court has dismissed a lawsuit seeking to block an effort by the Biden administration to revise how the country’s navigable waters are to be regulated.

For Oklahoma farmers, this new rule could create a lot more problems than solutions when it comes to which water sources are considered under federal regulation. 

“The biggest definition with farming is how the water stands on a piece of land, and whether it then becomes protected wetlands,” said Rodd Moesel, president of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau

Todd Ebert is a regular driver on both the Southern and Kentucky Drag Boat Association circuits but has never been to Smoke on the Water.

They found and seized Francisco Bocel, the 19-year-old brother of the associate pastor, put a gun to the terrified young man’s head, and threatened to kill him if he did not take them to the pastor.

Francisco led the attackers down the stairs and to the door of a corner utility room. He knocked, calling out in terror, “Padre, they’ve come for you.”

Smoke on the Water race fans, two- and four-legged, found the coolest way to beat weekend temperatures that reached into the mid-90s by jumping into the lake between events.

The Canadian County OSU Cooperative Extension Center will host the Central Oklahoma Turf Conference Aug. 12 at the Redlands Community College Conference Center.

This turf conference will focus on commercial licensed professional turf applicators needs for Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Category 3A and 6 licenses.

Speakers will present the latest in turf and herbicide research, with ODAFF Category 3A and 6 CEU credits provided with each session.

The 2021 wheat harvest yields top the charts in many fields throughout Oklahoma. Farmers experienced an extremely late hard freeze in late April that dinged the yield potential for many fields in lower elevations throughout central Oklahoma, said Kyle Worthington, OSU Extension Service educator.

To prepare for next year’s harvest, Canadian County OSU Cooperative Extension Center will host an Early Season Wheat Management Conference set for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10.

Twenty-one positive COVID-19 cases among the cast and orchestra has forced the temporary shutdown of El Reno Community Theatre’s production of Beauty and the Beast.

ERCT Director Kristin Richardson said the Centre Theatre, which is owned by the city of El Reno but leased to the group, has also been closed until it can be sanitized.

“We have not sanitized the theater yet so it will be shut down until we can get that done. We have ordered the products and are waiting for them to arrive,” said Richardson.
