El Reno schools to pay full-time employees good attendance bonus

Body

El Reno Public Schools Superintendent Matt Goucher believes the best way to educate students in the district is to have them in front of a teacher inside a classroom setting.

“If we are fighting really hard to educate our community on the importance of getting their kids to school and on time to learn as much as they can, then the same thing goes for us.

“We need our employees here to teach, take care of and make sure our students are safe,” said Goucher.

And he’s willing to pay a little extra to make sure the district keeps up its end of the equation.

For El Reno’s Ross Seed Company, it’s business as usual.

News that True Value Hardware, the longtime primary provider for the family-owned Ross Seed, has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is in the process of being sold, will not impact the iconic store or its customers, the owners said.

El Reno High School’s cheerleading squad held its annual youth clinic recently where campers learned skills and routines.

Those efforts were showcased to the public before last week’s home game with Guthrie.

There were 120 campers from pre-kindergarten to fourth grade who took part in the clinic.

Also performing were El Reno’s Little League cheerleaders. (Tribune photographer/Glen Miller)
