El Reno Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be taking part in the annual Scouting for Food collection effort. 

Beth Griesel is coordinating the effort. Residents are asked to place plastic bags filled with non-perishable food items near the mailbox or curb prior to 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8.

Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts will be working with adults to collect the bags. Griesel said if a bag has not been collected by noon on Saturday, she can be reached either by calling or texting 405-590-3516 and arrangements will be made to collect the bag. 

The Scouting for Food Drive has been an annual affair since 1988. All food collected on Saturday will be delivered to The Lord’s Harvest in El Reno.
