Drive-up COVID 19 testing Friday
Due to a higher demand for COVID-19 testing at the Yukon satellite office, the Canadian County Health Department will be holding a drive-up test location on Friday.
The testing will be done at Yukon’s Middle School from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. No appointment will be needed to get tested for the virus, but residents will need to show some symptoms.
Officers from the Yukon Police Department and deputies from the Canadian County Sheriff’s office will be on site for traffic control.
“We will have nurses there that will do screenings and you will be asked if you have either a cough, fever or shortness of breath. You can also get tested if you have been in direct contact with a person that has had a laboratory-conformed positive test for COVID-19,” said Maggie Jackson, District 2 Community engagement Director.
There are some rules that will need to be followed for the drive-up test site:
▶ Must be 16 or older to get tested.
▶ Residents aged 16 or 17 must have parental approval on site.
▶ One person per vehicle will be tested.
▶ Residents must stay in vehicles with windows rolled up until test in performed.
There will be no appointment-based testing done in El Reno at the health department’s main office on Friday.
