Due to several days of extreme temperatures and a lack of much-needed rainfall, Oklahoma City has implemented an odd-even outdoor watering schedule.

The City of El Reno has also implemented the odd-even watering schedule in accordance with its water purchase agreement with Oklahoma City. El Reno maintains its local water supply, with water purchased from Oklahoma City serving as a supplemental reserve resource when needed.

Under the odd-even watering schedule:

• Residents and businesses with odd-numbered street addresses may water outdoors on odd-numbered calendar days.
• Residents and businesses with even-numbered street addresses may water outdoors on even-numbered calendar days.

The city also asks and encourages residents and businesses to water at night, when cooler temperatures help reduce evaporation and allow water to be used more efficiently.

The City of El Reno will continue to monitor local water levels and conditions and will provide updates to the public as needed.

Residents are encouraged to do their part to conserve water and help protect the community’s water supply during the ongoing hot and dry conditions.
