Redlands Community College will host high school juniors from across the area April 23 to experience college life during Junior Day.

The event is set from 9 a.m. to noon and offers students the opportunity to explore academic programs, meet faculty and staff and get a firsthand look at the Redlands campus. Participants will also learn about the college’s concurrent enrollment program, which allows eligible high school students to earn college credit while still in high school.

A member of the House of Representatives is trying to exempt the Federal Aviation Administration Academy in Oklahoma City from any future government shutdowns.

She will assist Cache’s Bo Thompson in the game to be played July 29 at Tulsa Memorial High School. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

MIDWEST CITY – Five games in four days, including a district twinbill against its archrival, finally took a toll on the pitching staff for El Reno High School’s baseball team.

Playing in the Midwest City bracket of the 2025 Bill Tipton Classic, El Reno rolled out the lower half of its rotation in a 9-1 setback to Elgin in the final game of pool play.

El Reno went 2-1 for the event after beating Midwest City (6-3) and Bishop McGuinness (8-7). The effort left the Indians with a 12-5-2 record for the season.

The Guthrie player had fallen to the ground before a timeout was called and Apracio helped with his injury until trainers could reach the two players and take over.

The eight-hour round-trip bus ride to the Oklahoma panhandle resulted in a split of District 5A-2 matches for El Reno High School’s soccer teams.

The El Reno girls stayed tied with Bishop McGuinness for the league lead with a 2-1 overtime victory over the Tigers. It was the first extra period win for the Indians in three tries this season. El Reno is now 5-4 on the season and 3-0 in the 5A-2 standings.

The match was scoreless at the break before Guymon scored on a shot that was stopped by keeper Samantha Curtis but just past the goal line early in the second half.

Pushing four of its five players to sub-par 80 scores, El Reno High School’s boys golf team shot its season-low round to take third place in the 2025 Tecumseh Invitational.

Playing at Firelake Golf Course in Shawnee, El Reno carded a 305 to finish 20 strokes back of meet winner McAlester with a 285.

North Rock Creek was runner-up with a 302.

Jackson Albrecht led the Indians with a 3-over par round of 73 (34-39) to place fifth in the individual medalist chase. Charles Woolworth (37-40) and Baylor Pearson (38-39) tied for 17th with duplicate 77s.
