Traditionally the last week of the regular season usually brings about some odd twists to the final district standings and the 2019 season did not disappoint.

El Reno High School’s football team went into week 10 seemingly headed for a rematch with Carl Albert in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs.

However, the Titans blasted Bishop McGuinness 40-0 to jump from third place to win the District 5A-2 title. Carl Albert will now play Duncan, which grabbed the fourth playoff pass from 5A-1 with a 34-13 win over Altus.

El Reno and Canadian County turned out for the annual Veterans Day Parade, held Sunday under sunny skies and mild temperatures. Perfect weather for a parade honoring the men and women who have served our nation.

Lawmen would lead the parade with an armored vehicle belonging to the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office.

Right behind this colossal machine was a group of soldiers ready to march. Their faces were stoic, disciplined.
