ER Wranglers hold Thanksgiving dinner

The El Reno Wranglers held their annual Thanksgiving meeting and dinner recently with 32 members and three guests present. President Jimmy Johnston opened the meeting, while Gary Sorrells offered prayer. 

The club presented a donation check to Nicki Pruitt for The Lord’s Harvest. 

Members will be riding in the El Reno Christmas Parade and the Stockyards Christmas Parade, both on Dec. 6. 

A live auction followed the meeting. Items were auctioned as a fundraiser for the club.

This year marks the fifth year the book has won the Gold Level Award from the National Yearbook Program of Excellence, which recognizes excellence in yearbook creation and school engagement.

Three of this year’s staff were members of last year’s award-winning staff — Darst, Black and Mollohan.

When you are the head coach of the two-time defending state champion, it's fair to say there is one question Jennifer Douglas will get asked over and over throughout the course of the 2025-2026 season.

“This is like last year when I wasn’t even thinking about back-to-back but literally like one game at a time.

“All I’m thinking about is let’s get through the first game,” said Douglas.

Brinkman was a first-team All-District player and multi-year starter for El Reno.

Late basket extends RCC win streak to eight games

Myracle Washington hit a 2-point jumper with one second left as Redlands Community College women’s basketball team extended its current win streak to eight games.

The Cougars moved to 8-1 on the season with a 58-56 win over National Park. The victory came on the heels of an 89-45 thrashing of Mid America Christian University’s junior varsity.

Washington’s basket gave her 16 points for the two games to go along with seven assists and three rebounds. Katelyn Harviston was one of three players with 18 points each along with Haven Joseph and Heaven Haywood.

Cougars dominate Loyalty Prep, even season record

Body

Redlands Community College men’s basketball team earned its second victory in the last five games, defeating Loyalty College Prep 86-44.

The 42-point non-league blowout moved the Cougars to 4-4 on the season.

Redlands shot 43 percent from the field (35-of-81) and made 11 3-point baskets off 31 percent shooting. Jayden Forrest knocked down four of those treys, followed by Camren Hunt with three.

Jarren Cargil added two treys and RCC got one each from Cristian McElveen and Madden Padilla.
