OHS yearbook staff earns gold level status

For two consecutive years, the Okarche High School yearbook staff has been awarded the gold level of the National Yearbook Program of Excellence. The yearbook program placed at the gold level in 2020 and 2022, and placed at the bronze level in 2021.

Yearbook staff recently learned that they placed at the gold level for the second consecutive year with their 2023 yearbook.

Children’s JC to host Safe Halloween

Body

The Gary E. Miller Canadian County Children’s Justice Center will host the third annual Safe Halloween event for a local school.

On Tuesday morning, children ages 6 to 8 will dress up and fill their bags with candy and prizes as they tour the center.

Center staff have decorated the halls and will dress up to hand out candy. Staff will also enjoy a pumpkin decorating contest, costume contest and hall decorating contest.

Roblyer honored by state retired educators group

Body

Jimmy F. Roblyer was honored recently by the Oklahoma County Retired Educators Association.

Roblyer was among 13 retired educators honored for a Lifetime Contribution to the Teaching Profession as well as Distinguished Service to the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association.

Roblyer, a 1956 graduate of El Reno High School, was honored in Tulsa at the Annual State Convention of Retired Educators.
