Ralph Myers

Body

Funeral services for Ralph J. Myers were held Tuesday at Freewill Baptist Church with Barry Clagg officiating.

Services were under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Geary.

Ralph passed away July 1, 2022, at his home in Geary. He was born Oct. 23, 1933, in South Burlington, Vt. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1962 in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. 

Ralph worked for the State Highway Department for the state of Connecticut for many years before retiring and moving to Florida, then moving to Geary in 1989.

Nancy Erbar Elkins

Body

Nancy Louise Erbar Elkins, 85, passed away at a care center in Boise, Idaho, on Dec. 28, 2020.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service honoring our beloved mother and grandmother on her birthday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at the El Reno Cemetery.

Nancy was born July 11, 1935, in El Reno to Bertha (Reuter) and Hal Erbar.

John Meiwes

Body

Mass for John Paul Meiwes of Minco was held Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in El Reno. Services were under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

John died June 27, 2022, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born Sept. 9, 1952, in Okarche. He was raised in the Piedmont area, graduating from Piedmont High School.

John moved to Minco in 1973 where he was engaged in farming. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Union City and a past board member of the Hinton Co-op.

Leo Allen

Body

Funeral services for Leo M. Allen were held Friday, July 1, 2022.

Mr. Allen was born Feb. 26, 1944, to Dez Allen in El Reno.

He was a 1962 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.

Leo is survived by three children, Cheweeta Mickens (John), Wendell Ferguson and Leona Barnes (Ron); brother, Warner R. Allen (Edna), and sister-in-law, Phyliss Allen, both of El Reno.

Raymond Dick

Body

Services for Raymond (Ray) George Dick of Minco were held Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Minco, with burial with military honors following at the Evergreen Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Ray died June 21, 2022, at the Norman Regional Healthplex. He was born Jan. 17, 1952, in Topeka, Kan. He was an Army veteran serving during Vietnam, and was awarded a Bronze Star.

He became certified as a John Deer tractor mechanic and worked as a tractor and auto mechanic with a shop in downtown Minco.

Ruth Mitchell Youngheim

Body

Ruth Elizabeth Youngheim, 95, passed away May 29, 2022, at her home in El Reno.

Ruth was born in El Reno on March 1, 1927, daughter of Roy Lee and Viola (Reynolds) Mitchell. She was raised in El Reno and worked as a teller at the Citizens National Bank.

In 1971, Ruth married Stanley Youngheim and they remained happily married for 48 years, blessing the lives of everyone they met.

Janet Miller

Body

Janet Lynn (Pasta) Miller passed away June 9, 2022, with her family by her side, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Danny, as well as her three sons, Ryan and wife, Cecilia, Steve and wife, Salina, and Robby and fiancée, Jeanette.

She also had nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Pasta.

Janet was born Dec. 22, 1946, in Enid. Her family moved numerous times as a child, but eventually ended up in El Reno, where she met, fell in love with and married Danny in 1966.

Betty McMahan

Body

A memorial service for Betty Agnes (Nail) McMahan will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25 at Canadian Valley Cemetery in Calumet under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Betty, a longtime resident of Noble, died at her home on Aug. 4, 2020. She was born Feb. 6, 1941, and grew up in Geary and Calumet, graduating from Calumet High School in 1959.

She taught kindergarten after her graduation from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.

Jon Hurley

Services for Jon “Chris” Christopher Hurley were held Friday, June 17 at Red Rock United Methodist Church in Calumet, with urn burial following at Red Rock Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Chris passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the age of 61 from lasting effects of COVID. He was born in Los Angeles on Feb. 24, 1961, to Jon and Lynn Valliere and resided in Oklahoma after his parents divorced.

Chris was adopted by Dan Hurley after Lynn and Dan married in 1963.

Funeral services for Robert Ernest Rinehart will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15 at Hinton Church of Christ with James Cudd officiating. Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Home, Geary.

Robert passed away Friday, June 10, 2022, at his home in Geary at the age of 67. He was surrounded by his family and friends.
