Louise Bosler Carel

Prayer service for Louise Margaret Bosler Carel will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24 at St. Joseph Church in Union City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, also at St. Joseph Church, with Rev. Lance Warren and Deacon Lloyd Menz officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Fred Dean Wolf

Body

Fred Dean Wolf of El Reno died unexpectedly but peacefully on Nov. 9, 2023, at the age of 88. Fred was born May 3, 1935, in Arkansas City, Kan., to Fred St. Clair and Mary Jane Wolf. He attended Arkansas City High School where he met the love of his life, Marjorie May Ramsey, while practicing for a musical stage production in their junior year. They graduated from ACHS in 1953 and were married June 22, 1954.

Thomas Joseph Rother

Body

Thomas Joseph Rother passed away with all his family at his bedside on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at St. Katharine Drexel in El Reno. Tom was born to Franz and Gertrude (Smith) Rother on June 2, 1940, in Okarche.

Tom graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic High School in 1958. He was a lifelong resident of the community in which he farmed and was a rural mail carrier for 30 years. He also served in the Oklahoma Air National Guard.

Michael Hambrook

Body

Services for Michael Ray Hambrook will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 in the Benson Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Hancock officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow at 2 p.m. at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Guthrie under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Michael died Nov. 15, 2023, at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born Feb. 16, 1948, in Guthrie. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a roustabout in the oil fields.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Hambrook of Guthrie, and brother, Ronnie Hambrook of El Reno.

David McGrew

Body

Graveside services with full military honors for David Alan McGrew of Minco were held Thursday, Nov. 16 at the Friendship Cemetery, under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Dave passed away Nov. 13, 2023, at the Baptist Village in Oklahoma City. He was born Oct. 2, 1942, in Indianapolis, Ind. He grew up in Waldron, Ind. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, retiring after 27 years.

He moved to Minco in 1986. Dave worked as an administrator of vehicle transportation for Tinker Air Force Base.

Verda Lea Tinsley

Body

Services for Verda Lea Tinsley will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17 at Trinity Baptist Church. Services are under the care of Wilson Funeral Home.

Verda Lea was born to Harvey A. Buie and Ella Mae Lee on June 24, 1929, in Alfalfa. She graduated from Eakly High School in 1948 and went on to later attend Hills Business University of Oklahoma City and graduated in Bookkeeping and Business Machines in 1958.

Larry Bob Maples Sr.

Body

Larry Bob Maples Sr. was born Oct. 20, 1937, in a little house just south of the South Canadian River in Minco to Reedy Wenton Maples and Lela Lorilla Brown Maples. When Bob was 4, they moved to a house on Gregory Road, east of Union City. He walked to school (rain or shine) at Springer Valley School until the school closed in 1944. He then attended Union City Schools where he graduated in 1956.

Dorothy Slover

Body

Graveside services for Dorothy Janet Slover of Minco will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17 at the Evergreen Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Dorothy passed away Nov. 11, 2023, at her home. She was born Dec. 15, 1932, in Oklahoma City. She was raised in the Tuttle community, graduating from Tuttle High School in 1950.

She moved to Minco in 1964.

She was a homemaker and had worked as a clerk at Woodworth’s Hardware Store.

She was a member of Minco United Methodist Church.

James Elder Sr.

Body

Services for James Alan Elder Sr. will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Benson Memorial Chapel with Curtis Steffler officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

James died Nov. 8, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born Oct. 17, 1960, in El Reno. He was employed by Borel Brick.

James was preceded in death by his father, Danny Tammen; his mother, Jamie Sue (Palmer) Cavins; brothers, John Elder and Jarred Tammen; sister, Marty Elder; and grandparents, Exie Robertson Palmer and Lloyd Palmer.
