Protecting the young

Cheyenne and Arapaho leaders heard last week about proposed legislation designed to help find missing Native American women as well as efforts to better protect children.

C&A Gov. Reggie Wassana hosted the C&A Leadership Luncheon at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Oklahoma City.

The event was attended by elected C&A leaders as well as government officials within the Tribes. Also in attendance were leaders from the Kiowa, Pottawatomie and Apache Tribes.

Charles Richard Lippoldt

Charles Richard Lippoldt, born Nov. 12, 1936, in Okarche, died Jan. 17, 2020, at his home in Bishop, Calif. Charles lived in Inyo County for 43 years. He loved to go camping and fishing and he also liked to travel, watch sports and bowl.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Alice Lippoldt; his wife, Teryl Lippoldt; son, Timothy Lippoldt; brother, John Lippoldt; and sister, Alice (Toots) Miller.
