All tied up

Serving as one of five hosts, El Reno High School’s baseball team took on a pair of highly-ranked Class B programs in two varsity games of the 2025 Union City Spring Break Festival.

While the Indians did not win either contest, Keith Hill’s team remains unbeaten on the season.

Due to a strict two-hour time limit, El Reno battled Class B’s second-ranked Calumet to a 2-all tie.

The Indians followed that with a 5-all stalemate against Leedey, ranked sixth in the state.

The ties left El Reno with a 5-0-2 season record.

Honoring a quiet woman with a big heart

Body

Carolyn Husmann Day was declared on Feb. 21, but the weather was so bad, the celebration was postponed until March 11. That’s when the El Reno City Council officially declared a special day dedicated to a woman many have celebrated for years, especially those whose lives she has helped to save.

Unless you’re involved in a domestic abuse situation or know someone who is living through that hell, you may not know Carolyn Husmann. She’s not very loud. Actually, fairly quiet. But she’s very effective.

I think El Reno is such a great town! I guess we aren’t a town, we are a city. In any case, it is a great place to live, work and raise a family.

There are wonderful people here. People who truly want the best for you and the city. They volunteer, serve on committees, get involved to make our city a great place to live.
