From the sidelines: Numbers define success, not titles
One of the main things I’ve learned after three decades, 34 years to be exact, of covering high school sports is that wins and losses don't always tell the whole story.
Wins and losses do not measure the successes or failures of any given season.
Sure, when the left side of the equation is greater than the right, it can keep some fans happier than others. Then there are fans who see anything short of a championship as a failure.
