OMRF discovery may lead to easier diagnosis of autoimmune disease

Body

OKLAHOMA CITY — A discovery at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation is paving a path toward a more accurate and less intrusive diagnosis of Sjögren’s disease, an autoimmune disorder affecting up to 4 million Americans.

Currently, at least 30 percent of people suspected to have Sjögren’s disease undergo a diagnostic lip biopsy because they lack a telltale biomarker found through a blood test, said OMRF scientist Darise Farris, Ph.D.

“That biomarker has traditionally played a primary role in diagnosing the disease,” Farris said.

Lack of diamond time hurts Indians

Body

MUSTANG – Having lost yet another doubleheader due to the lack of players by its opponent, El Reno High School’s Varsity 1 baseball team made its first road trip of the summer having played two games in eight days.

The lack of diamond time showed.

El Reno slipped to 4-3 on the summer in the Red Dirt League standings after being swept by Mustang’s Red Squad by scores of 7-5 and 10-4.

The Indians had been scheduled to host Clinton the night before, but the Red Tornadoes backed out of the twinbill hours before first pitch due to a lack of available players.

UFOs: I want to believe, but I trust no one in government

Body

What differentiates David Charles Grusch -- who claims that the U.S. government has in its possession “intact and partially intact craft of non-human origin” -- from previous people making similar claims?

The big and obvious difference is that his back story seems to check out.

For purposes of comparison: Bob Lazar, a celebrity in “The Truth is Out There” community, claims degrees in physics from MIT and electronics from CalTech.

Mullin it Over: The fight for life is far from over

Body

On June 24, 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturned the unconstitutional right to an abortion, a devastating error from the Roe v. Wade ruling in 1972.

On this historic day one year ago, the Court restored the unalienable right to life prescribed by our forefathers and rightfully returned the power to protect the unborn back to the states where it should have been all along.

While this ruling was an incredible step in protecting the unborn, the fight for life is far from over.
