With Piedmont scheming to shut down El Reno High School’s top two scorers in James Reveles and Carter Roman Nose, the Indians needed another player to step up and fill in the void in this top 10 battle.

Alex Elizondo was happy to oblige.

The point guard scored a team-high 16 points as El Reno defeated the seventh-ranked Wildcats 54-47. The Indians, ranked sixth in the same Class 5A poll, improved to 6-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Suburban Conference standings.

The El Reno Public School Board voted unanimously to reject a request by Revolution Resources II LLC and Revolution Operating Company LLC for a sub-surface easement deal with the district.

“I would make a motion to reject the lease agreement as presented,” said school board member Curtis Blanc.
