Big-spending state agencies on naughty list again

Oklahoma state agencies seem to believe they’re on Santa’s nice list: They have requested an additional $815 million in funding for fiscal year 2023. This includes $660 million in appropriated funds.

This request for additional funding comes at a time when families across the state are dealing with ever-increasing prices. Inflation hit 6.8 percent in November.

Hughey gives insight into county Children’s Justice Center

Body

If a person encounters four or more “adverse experiences” as a child, there’s a far greater chance he or she will have difficulties adjusting later in life.

Associate District Judge Bob Hughey offered that glimpse into how young people are assessed when they become involved with the Canadian County Children’s Justice Center.

Hughey serves as judge for the juvenile court as well as the chief administrator for the center. He addressed the El Reno Now audience last week.
