Redlands Community College women’s basketball team snapped a threegame losing streak last week with a 76-70 road victory over Seminole State College.

While cutting the final margin down to single digits, Okarche High School’s boys basketball team closed out the regular season with a 56-51 road loss at Cashion, ranked No.2 in Class 2A.

Defensive struggles continue to haunt Redlands Community College men’s basketball team after the Cougars dropped two recent games to Eastern Oklahoma and Seminole State Colleges.

Redlands Community College’s baseball team has kicked off the 2020 season with a 2-2 record after facing both Vernon Regional Junior and Rose State Colleges.

The second annual "You're Somebody's Blood Type" blood drive was held last week outside the Canadian County Courthouse Annex. The Oklahoma Blood Institute brought over two donation buses for the six-hour event held in honor of El Reno's Sara Feistel, who has been diagnosed with placenta accreta and may need blood transfusions following the birth of her second baby. The Underwood Oklahoma Home and Community Education Association of Canadian County met recently at a local restaurant with Delpha Miklautsch as hostess.

Lamplighters Oklahoma Home and Community Education Association of Canadian County met recently at a local church fellowship center. Joan Herr offered opening prayer, with Carol Stine giving the devotion on “The Love Letter.” Maxine Little led the flag salute.

ON The Okarche High School speech team recently competed in the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Invitational Speech Tournament and brought home seven individual trophies and the Class 3A sweepstakes trophy.
