Three medal in SC runs
El Reno High School collected three medals and a sixth-place team finish from the boys at the 2025 Suburban Conference Cross Country Championships.
Running in Shawnee, the boys posted 139 points to finish three points back of Del City for fifth. The effort was led by sophomore Abraham Scarritt, who took 10th place on the 5,000-meter course, earning All-Suburban Conference honors, with a time of 18 minutes and 34.54 seconds.
Shannon Russell got an all-conference nod with his 27th-place time of 20:20, followed by Dominick Steinbruck (21:28) in 38th place.
Jose Moran-Flores (23:14) crossed in 51st place, followed by Tushka Adair (24:14) six spots back. Koneihii Sleeper (25:50) was 65th, two spots ahead of Garrett Wells (26:02). Donovann Benevides (28:54) took 72nd, junior Andrew Velez (31:34) was 77th and freshman William Blagg a runner back by 28/100ths of a second.
Junior Lily Owen continued her pursuit of Cara Roman Nose’s school record for the 3.1-mile range (20:46/2014), earning all-conference honors with a fifth-place finish at 22:10.37. Her time was a new career-best, cutting 13 seconds off her old time.
