While the All-State teams will not be decided until January, El Reno High School's football program should have several players in contention for Oklahoma's highest prep honor after a strong showing in recent voting for All-District.

El Reno had five seniors named to the All-District 5A-1 team, all first-team picks, following a season in which the Indians had to forfeit a pair of non-district games due to COVID-19.

The Indians rebounded from an 0-5 start to win four of the last five regular-season games and qualify for the postseason for a fourth straight season.

Earning one of the 10 superlative awards handed out by district coaches was Mikey Devereaux, who was named the Defensive Player of the Year. It was the third straight year for an El Reno player to nab the accolade.

El Reno's offensive honorees were wideout Kobe Null and lineman Alex Perdomo, while on the defensive side, Marlon Whitlow was picked at defensive end and Xzavier Devereaux at linebacker.

Mikey Devereaux was among the top three in several key statistical categories in 2021, including his team-leading 58 solo tackles and 88 overall. He logged three fumble recoveries and forced another, and had one sack and a broken-up pass.

Devereaux was third on the team in receiving with 10 catches for 59 yards. He was second in rushing with 554 yards on 84 carries, a 6.6 yards per carry average, while scoring a team-high 10 rushing touchdowns.

Null was second on the team in scoring with seven receiving touchdowns. He led the team in receptions (28) and receiving yards (402), while averaging 14.3 yards per catch.

He also played defense, closing with 37 tackles, three broken-up passes, a caused fumble and a recovery. Null punted 10 times for a 28-yard average, while returning seven kicks for 55 yards a 7.9 yard average.

Perdomo was a two-way player that blocked for an offense that scored 220 points and was not shut out in nine games. The Indians rushed for 1,581 yards and 709 passes for 2,290 overall yards or 254 yards per game.

On defense he had seven solo tackles and 12 total with half a sack.

Whitlow finished the year with 33 tackles, 20 of those solo, while recording 1.5 sacks.

Xzavier Devereaux, another two-way player, had 20 solo tackles, nine assists, two fumble recoveries and a sack. He carried the ball 19 times for 70 yards (3.7 ypc) and a touchdown.
