Services for Mike R. Laub of El Reno will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11 at Huber-Benson Funeral Home with Rev. Cydni Tillery officiating, followed by cremation. 

Mike died March 7, 2025, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. He was born June 9, 1950, in El Reno. During his high school years he played football and was selected to be an All-Stater and All-American. He went on to play for the University of Oklahoma.

Mike loved farming, ranching, gardening and sports and enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, cattle sales and casinos.

Louis Warren

Body

Louis Warren of El Reno has left this world to start his new life in heaven. His passing occurred February 27, 2025.

Louis was born at the El Reno Sanitarium December 23, 1949, to Elvis and Mary Warren. He spent his early years on the Warren family farm near Union City. He often recalled the hard work involved with growing up on the farm as the eldest son, but also the many joys life on the farm provided after work was through.

Karen Reed

Body

Karen Rae Reed passed away at the age of 74 on March 4, 2025, at Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford. She was a longtime resident of El Reno.

Karen’s life was dedicated to the teaching of mathematics to secondary students, every subject from algebra to trigonometry, statistics and calculus.

She was the first teacher in El Reno Public Schools to qualify as a Master Teacher.

Her students were her children.

Body

Ronald Henry Albers lived most of his life in El Reno where he was born Dec. 31, 1940. He was raised in El Reno, graduating from El Reno High School. He served in the U.S. Army and attended Hill’s Business College in Oklahoma City.

Ronnie was a letter carrier retired from the U.S. Postal Service, a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and a volunteer with Mobile Meals. 

Ronnie died Feb. 11, 2025, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Body

Mass of Christian Burial for Herman Joseph Rother was held Saturday, March 1 at Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Zachary Boazman and Deacon Max Schwarz officiating. Burial followed in the Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Services were under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. 

Herman died Feb. 25, 2025, at his home in Okarche.

He was born March 5, 1941, in Okarche.

Gary Morton Sr.

Body

Funeral services for Gary Lee Morton Sr. will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4 at Concho Emergency Response Center with Rev. Waylan Upchego officiating. Burial will follow in the Morton Family Cemetery in Geary.

Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Home.

Gary passed away Feb. 27, 2025, in Oklahoma City.

He was born May 31, 1963, in Clinton. He worked for the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes Operation and Maintenance Department for 22 years.

Mary Jane Hiskett was born Aug. 22, 1937, to Adam Leo Hiskett and Mary Alice Hiskett of Minco. She passed away Feb. 27, 2025. 

She is survived by her son, Paul Leo Foreman and wife, Shellie Ann Foreman of Edmond; grandson, Dr. Paul Michael Foreman of Orlando, Fla.; granddaughter, Dr. Morgan Allison Simpson and husband, Michael Brian Simpson of Lebanon, N.H.; sister-in law, Lynn Foreman of Tyler, Texas; brother-in-law, Tony Foreman of Irving, Texas; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Graveside services for William Wing Madbull, known as “Bill Chin,” were held Wednesday, Feb. 26 at the Concho Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Bill died Feb. 16, 2025, at his home in Oklahoma City.

He was born April 22, 1962, in El Reno.

Patrick Jerome Sheehan

Body

Patrick Jerome Sheehan, USMC Gunnery Sgt. Retired, of Calumet, passed away Dec. 27, 2024, at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Clinton after a long battle with cancer. 

Patrick was born Sept. 17, 1957, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He served his country for 23 years in the U.S. Army and the Marine Corps with duty as a small boat coxswain, CADRE trainer, infantry unit leader, scout sniper and machine gunner. He retired from the Marine Corps as a gunnery sergeant in 1996.

Patrick was a weapons expert, gun enthusiast and a member of the Catholic Church and VFW Post 382 in El Reno.
