Doris Jane Griffin

Doris Jane Griffin, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at her residence. She was born Jan. 14, 1938. She was a graduate of Yukon High School and had lived close to Chattanooga, Tenn., since 2009.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Frances Estep, and her husband, Donald J. Griffin.

She is survived by her sons, Donald W. Griffin (Cisse) of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Harry H. Griffin (Kim) of Readyville, Tenn.; sister, Harriett Garms of Yukon; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Margaret Ann Zweiacher

Body

Margaret Ann (Oldfield) Zweiacher, 92, lifelong El Reno resident, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Jan. 23, 2021, in Oklahoma City. Margaret was born Jan. 8, 1929, in El Reno to E.W. and Bertha (Kirby) Oldfield.

Margaret graduated from El Reno High School in May of 1947. On March 14, 1948, she married the love of her life, Raymond Delford Zweiacher, and from this union came three children, Ed, Tom and Ramona. A number of years after Raymond’s early death, she married his brother, Edward Enos Zweiacher.

Vincent Scott

Body

Graveside services for Vincent Edward Scott were held Tuesday at the Concho Cemetery with Rev. Gerald Panana officiating. Services were under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Ed passed away Jan. 20, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born May 16, 1968, in Oklahoma City where he was raised.

He resided in Kingfisher for 23 years.

Body

A private family funeral service for Sue Snyder was held Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at First Christian Church. A public graveside service followed at Red Rock Cemetery in Calumet with Pastor Tara Dew officiating, assisted by Rev. Colton Lott.

Services were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Craig Eugene Joyner

Body

A Celebration of Life for Craig Eugene Joyner, 64, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Palace Event Center, The Chateau Building, located at 2310 N. Banner Road, El Reno.

Craig was born to Edward and Nettie (Montgomery) Joyner on June 7, 1956, in Oklahoma City.

He passed away peacefully, following a battle against cancer, at home with family at his side.

Joseph F. Gatz

Body

Joseph F. “Joe” Gatz was born May 26, 1929, on a farm west of Union City, the second child of and first son of John and Dorothy (Wartchow) Gatz. He attended school in Union City, graduating from Union City High School in 1949. In 1951 he was drafted into the Army and served in the infantry in Korea. He was discharged as a sergeant in 1952. On May 19, 1956, he married Laura Jean Jurey.

Helen Singleton

Body

Helen Louise Singleton, 83, went home to be with her Savior Jan. 13, 2021. Helen was born Nov. 29, 1937, in Banner to William and Rose Dolezal. She was married to Fred Singleton on Sept. 3, 1960, in El Reno. They shared 60 years of marriage together.

Helen graduated from El Reno High School in 1956. She attended Oklahoma State University where she studied education. She was employed at Oklahoma Retailer Publishing Company for over 50 years where she did the accounting for Fred’s newspaper.

Mary Ann Sorrels

Body

Mary Ann Sorrels of Yukon was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Lawton and passed away Jan. 11, 2021, at Heritage Assisted Living Center in Yukon.

Mary Ann graduated from Sacred Heart High School in El Reno. She married Elton Lee Sorrels on Oct. 23, 1954.

She was a homemaker for many years and worked at various jobs before she found her calling when she became a house mom at several fraternities and sororities at several universities including the University of Oklahoma, Colorado State University, Kansas State University and Ohio State University.   

James Sorrels

Body

James “Jim” Elton Sorrels was born Sept. 13, 1955, in Okarche to Elton Lee and Mary Ann (Zajic) Sorrels. He entered into rest Oct. 26, 2019, in El Reno. 

Jim graduated from El Reno High School in 1973. He attended the Canadian Valley Vo-Tech his junior and senior years studying drafting and design. He worked for his dad as a parts man until October 1974.   

Barbara Reiss

Body

Barbara Reiss passed away Jan. 17, 2021, in Oklahoma City. She was born May 1, 1941, in Monett, Mo.

Arrangements are under the care of Wilson Funeral Home.
