Haliegh Renae Salazar
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Haliegh Renae Salazar, age 18, of El Reno. Haliegh passed away tragically and far too soon on May 22, 2026, leaving behind a family, community and countless friends who loved her deeply and will forever cherish the memories she gave them.
Haliegh was born Oct. 17, 2007, in El Reno. She attended Head Start in Concho and elementary school in Calumet. She later transferred to El Reno, where she graduated from El Reno High School with the Class of 2025. She was a cheerleader and a member of the volleyball team, and she also served as a football manager.
After graduation, Haliegh dreamed of working in the medical field — in radiology or ultrasound technology — or as a cosmetologist. But her plan after graduation was to enjoy life, spend time with friends and family, and take her time deciding her future.
At the time of her passing, Haliegh worked as a waitress at Buffalo Wild Wings, a job she truly enjoyed.
Haliegh was saved and baptized in June 2017 at children’s church camp and later baptized at Trinity Baptist Church.
She attended Falls Creek and was always known as a sweet, respectful and polite young lady.
Haliegh had a smile that could light up any room and a personality nobody could ever forget. She was beautiful, funny, feisty, loving, and full of life. She loved music, tattoos, piercings, lashes, perfume, and decorating everything just right.
She loved thrift shopping, vacations, trying new restaurants and dessert shops, going to the lake, riding on the boat and laying out in the sun and hanging out with her friends.
More than anything, she loved spending time with the people she loved most. She adored being an aunt and treasured every moment with her nephews. She had very few fears in life, but if there was one thing she absolutely could not handle, it was bugs — especially June bugs.
Those who knew Haliegh knew her love was loud, genuine and unforgettable. She leaves behind countless memories, photos, laughs and moments that her loved ones will hold onto forever.
Haliegh is survived by her mother and stepfather, Shirley Salazar and Brian Jones; her father and stepmother, Bob and Ali Salazar; her sisters, Kelsey Wilson, Mikalah Gatz, Kyra Salazar, Randi Parish and Shelby Jones; and her brothers, Caleb Gatz, Kyle Salazar, Blake Pearn and Logan Pearn. She also leaves behind her beloved nephews, Kaeston, Kolston, Mikey and Ryker, along with soon-to-arrive baby girl Reina.
Haliegh is survived by her grandparents, Randy and Charlotte Meade, Delbert Meade and Bryson Barnes; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends. Those left to cherish her memory include Rachal and Justin Jeanson, Shelly and Gary Davis, Ebony Barnes, Angel Barnes, Eddie Salazar, Carla and Denny Chaloner, Cindy Smith Murray, Lisa Sutton Graham, Daisy Smith, Corliss A. Collins, Regina Booker and Bryan Barnes; and lots of cousins, Amber, Bubba, Kaylee, Asia, Emily, Zach, Karlie, Dennis Joe, Nicole, Bailey, Aleigha, Rylie, Kristen, Shelby, Brody, Chris, Sierra, Tanner, Macy, Candis, Catrina, Brantley, Harley, Greyson and Peyton.
Haliegh was preceded in death by her grandmother, Charlene Salazar; grandfather, Candido Salazar; great-grandparents, Shirley Sutton, Carlous Smith, Doris Meade, Corliss J. Collins and Wesley Barnes; her uncle, Randy “Hot Rod” Meade; and her great-uncle, Tommy Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 29 at First Baptist Church of El Reno with Rod Young of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at the El Reno Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wilson Funeral Home.
Though Haliegh’s life was far too short, the love she gave and the impact she made will live on forever in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Forever 18. Forever loved. Forever our girl.
