A memorial service for David Lee “Pops” Barker will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 at Huber-Benson Funeral Home with Rev. Joshua Conner officiating. 

David passed away July 30, 2026, at his home in Calumet. He was born in Farmington, N.M. to Billy Paul and Juanita (Estill) Barker. He was a long-haul trucker. He enjoyed tinkering with projects, noodling, and being with his grandchildren.

David is survived by his sons, Cecil Barker and Chris Barker; daughters, Brandy Barker and Candy Barker Wilkerson and husband, Eric; siblings, Paula Herbert, Frances Riley, Myrtle Statton and Harley Barker; and 11 grandchildren, Natalee, Candice, Julia, Braydon, Preston, Colten, Bailey, Keira, Ares, Christopher and Elizabeth; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rachel Garrison and husband, Al; brothers, Billy Darrell Barker and wife, Gail, and Charles Erling Barker; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Statton.
