On Aug. 12, 2022, in the presence of family members, Carl Irwin put his soul in Jesus' hands. Wife, Carol, children, grandchildren and siblings will miss him dearly.

Carl was born Feb. 22, 1945, in Chickasha to Okland Keith and Anna Irwin. His childhood was spent in the Chickasha area. The family later moved to Woodward County. There, Carl attended and graduated from Woodward High School. He joined the Army in 1965. Following basic training, he was stationed in Germany.

After serving in the Army, Carl worked for various oil and gas companies in the Woodward area, moving to El Reno. Throughout the 1980s he managed Christian Well Service. He spent the remainder of his career as an oil and gas consultant working in South America and overseas in Dubai, Oman, Kuwait, Russia and Kazakhstan until his stroke in 2001.

Carl and his wife were married Jan. 21, 1978, at First Christian Church of Mooreland. They loved to travel together, but most of all spend time with children and grandchildren. Carl loved to watch the boys sports in high school and college.  If there wasnt a ball game or wrestling match, you could find the family at the lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Reese Irwin; sister, Barbara Stovall; and sister-in-law, Barbara Irwin.

Carl is survived by his wife, Carol of the home and four children, Sandra Breeden, Kristi Dauphin and husband, Donnie, Brad Dauphin and wife, Suzy, and Joe Dauphin and wife, Aimee. He leaves behind six grandsons, one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Jack and Sue Irwin of Mutual and A.D. Irwin of Woodward; two sisters, Sonia Peach of Mooreland and Neta Irwin of Oklahoma City; two brothers-in-law, Marty Ritterhouse and Eddie Ritterhouse. He will be missed by 15 nieces and nephews, 38 great-nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be held at the El Reno Cemetery Pavilion on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
