James H. Smith, age 81, passed from this life in his home on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020. He was born in Dover, Tenn., to Martin Smith and Birdie Wallace. He was the third of four children. 

James was preceded in death by his spouse, Brownita Smith; his mother and father; three siblings; and one granddaughter.

Elmo Michael Finnigan

Elmo Michael “Mike” Finnigan was born June 26, 1946, to Elmo E. and Agnes Finnigan in Oklahoma City. During his childhood, Mike lived in Concho with his parents and six brothers and sister. He passed away on Oct. 2, 2020, at his home in El Reno.

Mike graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in 1965. After high school, he attended college at El Reno Junior College and OU, was drafted by the United States Army and served at Fort Lewis, Wash., then returned home, worked briefly for the Rock Island Railroad and then opened his machine shop.

Graveside services for Eula (Pat) Clara Lay of Excelsior Springs, Mo., will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2020, at Crown Hill Cemetery, Excelsior Springs. Services are under the direction of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home.

Pat passed away Sept. 26, 2020, at Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab. She was born Jan. 3, 1929, in Woodbine, Kan. Pat was a server at Liberty Hills Country Club and the Royal Grill. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and having Monday night dinners with her family.

Rhonda Ann Eden

Rhonda Ann (Friesen) Eden, age 53, gained her wings peacefully in the arms of her beloved husband on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020, at their home in El Reno, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Rhonda impacted throughout her memorable life.

Rhonda was born March 10, 1967, in Oklahoma City to Vernon Ray Friesen and Donna “Joyce” Friesen. One of the many life skills that Joyce taught Rhonda was to sew. Rhonda enjoyed sewing and achieved a lifelong career as an interior designer.

Michael Randall

Michael (Mike) Laurance Randall, 63, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2020. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to many.

Mike was born to Laurance and Deloris Randall of Okarche on June 11, 1957. He was the oldest of six children. He married the love of his life, Teri Lorrain Stoner in April of 1978, together raising four sons.

Graveside service for Jerry Dale Overholser will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020, at the Canadian Valley Cemetery in Calumet. Viewing will be held on Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Jerry was born Dec. 9, 1943, in El Reno to Jerome and Orva Overholser. The world lost a wonderful father and grandfather but heaven gained an angel when Jerry passed away on Sept. 25, 2020, at the age of 76.

Memorial services for Joshua John Myers of El Reno were held Saturday, Sept. 26 at Faith Family Church with Pastor Samantha Roach officiating. Services were under the direction of Alternative Cremation and Funeral Services.

Funeral services for David Keith Adachi were held Monday in the Benson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gerald Panana officiating. Burial followed in the Concho Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. 

David died Sept. 23, 2020, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kan. He was born Jan. 16, 1992, in El Reno.

Raised in El Reno, he moved to Wichita in 2006.

He was a carpenter and brick mason, graduating from the Job Corps, and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Pearline Anderson

Body

Services for Pearline Anderson will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 in the Benson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Willie Brown officiating. Burial will be in the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Pearline was born Oct. 1, 1938, in Mississippi and died Sept. 21, 2020, at her home in El Reno.

She was a chef working at the Park Suite Hotel and J & K Restaurant and was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

Joe ‘Nick’ Ramirez Jr. 

Body

Rosary for Joe “Nick” Ramirez and his wife, Emily, was held Thursday, Sept. 24 in the Benson Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Sept. 25 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Lance Warren and Deacon Lloyd Menz officiating.

Burial followed in the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. 

Nick died Sept. 21, 2020, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born Dec. 6, 1935, in El Reno, one of eight children of Jose Ramirez and Feliciana Ramirez.
