Memorial services for Barbara Christine Lewis were held Oct. 9 at Fresh Anointing Church, under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Hinton.

Barbara passed away Sept. 21, 2021, in El Reno. She was born April 17, 1941, in Stockton, Calif.

She grew up in Hinton and attended Hinton schools. She lived in various places before settling in El Reno. She attended Fresh Anointing Church where she was an advisory board member.

Graveside services for William “Corky” Schulte Jr. of El Reno will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Okarche with Father Lance Warren officiating. Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Bill or Corky, as he was known by many, was born March 8, 1949, in Oklahoma City. He passed away Oct. 4, 2021. Bill attended Sacred Heart School in El Reno, St. Albans School in Washington, D.C., New Mexico Military Institute, University of Oklahoma, where he played football, and graduated from Redlands Community College.

Larry McNeil

Graveside services for Larry M. McNeil were held Wednesday at the Concho Cemetery, under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Larry died Sept. 30, 2021, at Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born Aug. 29, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked for the Salt Lake Tribune and was a retired printing press operator. He was Grand Master of Beadwork and was an accomplished silversmith and artist.

He was a Native Straight Dancer and member of the Four Corners Gourd Dance Society, Salt Lake City Chapter.

Mary Etta Flagg

Funeral services for Mary Etta Flagg will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6 at Wilson Funeral Home with burial following in the El Reno Cemetery.

Mary passed away peacefully Sept. 29, 2021. She was born June 2, 1934, in a tent in Fort Gibson to her parents, Jack Miller Gordon and Dollie Holt Gordon. Her birth was the first adventure in a life well-lived.

Juanita Genevia Dorrough

Juanita Genevia Dorrough was born Aug. 10, 1933, in Paris, Ark., to JC and Zora Dicks. She had one sister and two brothers.

She went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord on Oct. 1, 2021, at 88 years and 51 days. 

Juanita is survived by her husband, Reverend Alda L. Dorrough of El Reno. They were married on June 25, 1951, in Ozark, Ark. They began passing “love notes” to each other in the sixth grade, a love that would last for more than 77 years.

Kenneth Renner

Graveside services for Kenneth Paul Renner were held Saturday at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Okarche with Rev. Jeff Klade officiating. Services were under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Ken died Sept. 28, 2021, at St. Katharine Drexel Retirement Center in El Reno. He was born Feb. 20, 1949, in Kingfisher. He graduated from Omega High School and had a bachelor’s degree in science.

He taught earth science in Yukon, Oklahoma City and Greenfield and also farmed.

Jeffrey Dwayne Stout

Funeral services for Jeffrey Dwayne Stout were held Friday, Oct. 1 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Dick Kurtz officiating. Burial followed in the Calumet Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Jeff went to his eternal home on Sept. 27, 2021, in Oklahoma City. He was born July 14, 1961, in Okarche to Sue and Nelson Stout.

After graduating from Calumet High School, he worked many successful years in the oil field. The three great loves of his life were his faith, his children and his Harley Davidson.
