Graveside services for George (G.L.) Leonard Wright were held Monday in the Geary Cemetery with Rev. Darrla Golden officiating. Services were under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Hinton.

G.L. died Feb. 23, 2022, in Geary. He was born July 7, 1938, in Geary. G.L. owned and operated Geary Gulf Service Station for 11 years, Watonga Muffler Shop and Auto for 30 years as well as many other businesses. He then retired and continued his cattle operation.

Harold G. Stephens of El Reno went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, February 28 at New Hope Baptist Church in El Reno with Rev. Dick Kurtz and Tommy Lane officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Highland Cemetery in Lawton under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; his cousin with whom he was raised, George Kizziar; and his aunt, Ethel Jones.

Stephanie Lynn Pierce Steele

Stephanie Lynn Pierce Steele of Yukon passed away February 20, 2022, at Gran Gran’s Place in Yukon. Stephanie was born January 15, 1953, in Oklahoma City to Corle Nelson and Betty Laverne (Ward) Pierce.

Stephanie attended public school in Oklahoma City, graduating from Putnam City High School in 1971. She received a full scholarship to East Central State in Edmond. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she went on to receive a master’s degree from Texas Christian University.

Karen Copeland Mangan

Karen Copeland Mangan died Feb. 19, 2022, at her home in El Reno. She was born May 21, 1959, in Leavenworth, Kan.

Karen was a registered nurse devoted to her profession and patients. She worked in various facets of health care including home health and as an emergency room nurse. She worked for the West Virginia Board of Nursing.

Her hobbies were gardening and antiquing.

On Nov. 16, 2014, Karen married Robert “Rick” Mangan. Rick survives her.

Memorial services for Joseph Samuel McMahan Jr. will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at Calumet United Methodist Church with Rev. Travis Ewton officiating.

Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Home, Hinton.

Sam went to be with his heavenly father on Jan. 11, 2022. He was born in Calumet on July 12, 1933, to Joseph Samuel Sr. and Hallie (Clayson) McMahan. He was the third child born to this union.

Graveside memorial services for Wanda Cicillia Nicholson were held Tuesday in the Geary Cemetery with Rev. Waylon Upchego officiating. Services were under the direction of Turner Funeral Home.

Wanda passed away Feb. 15, 2022, at the Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon, She was born Nov. 20, 1949, in Monterey Bay, Calif. She spent the majority of her last 40 years as a resident of Geary.

Funeral services for Kayla Julia Cherice Yates were held Monday at Geary First Baptist Church, with burial in the Geary Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Turner Funeral Home.

Kayla passed away Feb. 14, 2022, in Oklahoma City. She was born Feb. 16, 1991, in El Reno. She grew up in El Reno and Geary, graduating from Geary High School in 2009. She was working on her associate degree in business management and had worked as a CNA. Kayla was a member of All Tribes Baptist Church.

Dr. Kent Ellis Carder

Dr. Kent Ellis Carder “Doc”, 83, of El Reno, went to his heavenly home on Monday, February 14, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Doc was born October 24, 1938, in El Reno to Dr. Bert and Effie Carder. He was married to Priscilla on November 30, 1974, and lived in his childhood home with their five children.

Kent graduated from El Reno High School in 1957, and with a desire to follow in his father’s footsteps, he attended chiropractic college in Oklahoma City and St. Louis, Mo. He graduated in 1960 and returned to El Reno to open a Chiropractic practice.

Wayne Harold Reuter

Wayne Harold Reuter, born March 13, 1927, passed away Feb. 11, 2022, at his home in El Reno. Wayne was a lifelong resident of El Reno. He married Zelma Hubbard on Jan. 27, 1948, and spent nearly every day after by her side. They were married for 73 years before her passing on Dec. 27, 2021.

Wayne served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Heaston Church.

Fred Dries III

Body

Services for Fred Joe Dries III of Union City were held Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Union City, with burial following at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Fred passed away Feb. 12, 2022, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City.

He was born April 26, 1944, in Stillwater and graduated from Stillwater High School.

After high school Fred joined the U.S. Navy and served during Vietnam.
