El Reno Interim Police Chief Kirk Dickerson said the investigation into the deceased body found Thursday morning is continuing.

Police said the deceased is believed to be a Native American male possibly in his early to mid twenties. No positive identification at this time has been made.

Dickerson said police cannot confirm this death is related to a homicide. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

The Oklahoma Medical Examiner is working to determine the cause of death.

Police are attempting to locate anyone who might have additional information that would further the investigation, but no person has been identified as a “suspect or person of interest.”

He said police investigators will continue the process in collaboration with outside agencies until such time as the case reaches a final disposition.
