Canadian County commissioners enacted an outdoor burn ban effective until Monday, Aug. 24. Commissioners took the action after holding an emergency meeting Thursday morning. 

The outdoor ban will be reconsidered at the commissioners regular weekly meeting at 9 a.m. Monday. 

Canadian County, like most of Oklahoma, has experienced dry weather for much of the summer.
