Sheriff's office works to find owners of costume jewelry

Body

More than 100 pieces of jewelry remains locked away inside the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office.

The presumed costume jewelry was stored for safekeeping at the old Canadian County Jail before 2016 after a possible store burglary.

Lt. Jerry Hendrick, who began working to find the owner of the jewelry in the spring of 2016, said the 80 to 100 pieces of inexpensive jewelry has manufacturing tags still attached.

The sheriff’s office has been unable to identify where the jewelry came from because there is not a store name on the tags, just the company that made it.
