Jimmie Jack Smith

Body

Funeral services for Jimmie Jack Smith were held Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche with Rev. Cory Stanley officiating. Burial was in the Geary Cemetery. Services were entrusted to Turner Funeral Home, Hinton.

Mr. Smith passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at his home east of Geary at the age of 67. He was born Jan. 16, 1953, to Jack Wade and Jimmie Miller Smith in Watonga.

Jimmie Jack graduated from Deer Creek High School.

Clifford Hall

Body

Clifford Wayne Hall was born Feb. 20, 1940, to Guy and Pearl (Ingram) Hall in Lookeba, and went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2020, in Oklahoma City.

Wayne graduated from Galena Park High School in 1958. On March 20, 1959, he married the love of his life, Martha McMichael, and together they had two children.

He worked 34 years for Anchor Glass as a machine operator.

Wayne loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church at Highland Baptist Church. He loved his church family very much and was blessed to have them in his life.

Roy Vincent

Body

Memorial services for Roy Vincent will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bible Baptist Church with Adam Pearson officiating. Burial will be in the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mr. Vincent passed away July 20, 2020, in Arkansas. He was born Sept. 27, 1946, in Tulare, Calif.

He was a Vietnam veteran and member of the American Legion. Roy was a furniture builder and remodeled houses.

Nelda Pearce

Graveside services for Nelda Pearce will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 29 in the El Reno Cemetery with Pastor Ray Idell officiating.

Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

El Reno Regional Airport lands makeover plan

The El Reno Regional Airport is about to get a major makeover and throw a party to celebrate what’s coming up.

Members of the city council signed off last week on a plan to build a new $1.3 million control tower at the airport.

The unanimous 4-0 vote sets in motion a plan that has been in the making for a number of years.

New airport manager Adam Fox showed engineered drawings of what the terminal will look like and explained the research that has gone into the project.

Through all the craziness of the COVID-19 pandemic, the city of El Reno has something positive to cheer about when it comes to professional sports.

Cameron Hill, a native and graduate of both El Reno High and Redlands Community College, was named to the final 30-man roster for the Cleveland Indians.

“I’m on cloud nine. I’m extremely proud of Cameron knowing everything that he has been through and to stick with it and fight back and prove himself again.
