Body Alvin Schones, longtime El Reno resident, died April 16 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.  The wake for Alvin will be 7 p.m. Friday, April 17, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18.

Filling up the spotlight

Body El Reno and The Filling Station keep attracting attention. Last week a video crew hired by the Oklahoma Department of Tourism was in town, filming a commercial the state plans to air both nationally and internationally.

City urges community help for Spring Clean

Body The City of El Reno is inviting residents, business owners and volunteers to take part in a community-wide Spring Cleanup designed to freshen up neighborhoods, public spaces and corridors ahead of a busy season of community events and Route 66 travel.

Argument leads to stabbing of 13-year-old boy

Body An El Reno teen was stabbed, allegedly by another teen earlier this month, police said. Police reports said two 13-year-old boys were involved in an argument when one of them pulled out a knife and stabbed the other. The incident happened April 2 on East Foreman near North Donald.
