Lisa Marie Foster of Piedmont passed away Nov. 26, 2025, at her home.

Lisa Marie Franks was born Aug. 20, 1985, in Oklahoma City. She spent her childhood in Oklahoma City and later attended school in Ardmore. Lisa graduated from Kingston High where she excelled in basketball. After graduation she was employed as a heavy equipment operator and later left the workforce to be a homemaker.

El Reno pins Watonga in season opener 58-21

A young El Reno High School wrestling team, which started four freshmen, kicked off the 2025-26 dual season last week by rallying from 10 points down to defeat Watonga.

El Reno posted a 58-21 victory by winning seven of the eight weights settled on the mat.

Both teams forfeited four weights with the Indians getting free wins from Zackary Pannell (165), Whylee Towns-Marquez (190), Turner Richardson (215) and Nick Mitchum at heavyweight.

Fast start carries ER to road win

Fast starts have been a key element to the success of El Reno High Schools girls basketball program under head coach Jennifer Douglas.

Last week the Indians, the two-time defending Class 5A state champions, kicked off the 2025-26 season with a 47-33 road win over the Lawton Wolverines.

It’s the eighth time in 10 years with Douglas at the helm for El Reno to win its season opener and the seventh in a row.

The only losses were to Piedmont (51-49) in 2016, Douglas’ first year, and to the Wildcats two years later by 16 points.

El Reno High School’s boys basketball team kicked off the 2025-26 season and District 5A-2 play on the wrong side of a 66-39 score in a road game at Lawton.

It’s just the third time since 2013 for the Indians to drop their season opener with the 27-point setback to the Wolverines being the worst of the three. The others were a 17-point loss to Carl Albert (2023) and a 20-point loss to Shawnee (2019).

Calumet High School’s girls basketball team knocked down 10 3-pointers to highlight an 82-35 win over The Academy to earn back-to-back wins for the second time this season.

The Chieftains, ranked No.8 in the first Class B-1 poll of the season, move to 4-1 overall.

Calumet shot 46 percent from behind the arc, 10-of-22, with Hayden Mayfield knocking down four treys and Randi Upchego three treys. Lila Winegeart had two 3-pointers and Angela De La Cruz added one 3-pointer.

Okarche boys extend win streak, Calumet, UCHS post lopsided victories

Okarche High School’s boys basketball team continues its assault on the 66-year-old state record for most consecutive wins with a 98-51 blowout of Coyle.

The two-time defending state champion moves to 4-0 on the year with the 47-point blowout and the team now has won 45 games in a row dating back to the 2023-24 season.

The state record for the longest winning streak is 67 set by Byng (1957-59).

Clark Daniel Rother of Okarche, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 1, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. 

Clark was born November 4, 1963, in Okarche. He was the cherished son of Ed and Carol Rother, growing up on the values of hard work, community and faith that he carried throughout his life.

Redlands women blast Southern Nazarene JV

Showing little hangover from the recent holiday break, Redlands Community College women’s basketball team extended its current win streak to 10 games with a 91-38 blowout of Southern Nazarene University’s junior varsity.

Redlands is now 10-1 on the season.

The Cougars shot 51 percent from the floor (37-of-73) including a 7-of-18 effort (39 percent) from the 3-point arc. Redlands made 10 free throws off a 53 percent effort.

Four players closed in double digits, led by Myracle Washington with 16 points, seven assists, three rebounds and three steals.

Cougars drop close games to Fort Scott, Dallas North Lake

Eight points separated Redlands Community College men’s basketball team from the win column as the Cougars dropped two outings inside a 24-hour period.

Redlands fell at home to Fort Scott Community College (74-72) before dropping a road game to Dallas College North Lake (91-85).

The Cougars are now 4-6 on the year.

Treston Gage paced all scorers for the two games with 32 points and added eight rebounds. Glen Bishop followed with 17 points, 12 rebounds and four steals.
