No.1 Calumet a round closer to state; Tigers stunned
Calumet High School’s baseball team, which has held the top spot in the Class B poll the entire season, is now two victories away from a repeat trip to the OSSAA Fall State Baseball Championships.
The Chieftains, now 24-4-1 following a 5-5 tie with Amber Poscasset (No.5 in Class A) in a tuneup game last week, will host the Class B, Region 1 Championships.
State-ranked Sentinel (No.8) and Caney (No.9) are in the regional along with Vici. The winner advances to state as Calumet is seeking its third straight trip to the fall classic and fourth in school history.
