El Reno’s T.J. Dill has been named as deputy director of the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority.
Dill most recently served as chief engineer since April 2023, overseeing engineering, construction, maintenance, right-of-way and utilities along Oklahoma turnpikes.
In his new role, he will continue those responsibilities as well as adding new ones in the areas of human resources and customer service.
A Canadian County man shot his wife and three of their children to death before killing himself inside their home between Mustang and Yukon.
Oklahoma City police responded about 9:35 a.m. Monday to 2804 Mirage Street near S.W. 29th and Czech Hall Road after a 911 caller said five people were dead inside.
Responding officers entered the home, where they indeed found five people shot to death. The house is in Oklahoma City limits four miles south of Yukon inside the Mustang school district.

The Underwood OHCE met recently at the Cherokee Restaurant for its April meeting. Those present were Janan Fletcher, Bernita Davis, Vicki Duncan, Delpha Miklautsch, Ann Ricketts and Natalia Valenzuela.
Davis read minutes of the previous meeting, with Fletcher giving the treasurer’s report.
The group began some preliminary discussions on fair projects.
Duncan noted that members will be taking baked goods to county commissioners on May 6. Commissioners will proclaim May 5-11 as Oklahoma Home and Community Education Week.
Charles Franklin Severns Sr. passed away April 17, 2024, in Oklahoma City. Frank was born April 26, 1934, in El Reno.
He graduated from El Reno High School in 1952. He served as a staff sergeant in the Air Force. After completing his tour of duty, he went to work at Southwestern Bell where he remained until he retired.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Julie Henderson of Paoli, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
