Jean Ann Bridges, 67 years of age, passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Born July 26, 1955, to Thomas Jackson and Mildred Glee McGaughey in Boise City, Okla., she was the youngest of three children. The family settled in El Reno.

Wade Dean Piersall was born March 31, 1955, on a U.S. military base in Frankfurt, Germany to Dean and Peggy Piersall. Wade passed away March 7, 2023, in El Reno.

Belva June (Rollins) Whittle passed away March 9, 2023, in El Reno. She was born to Charles and Florence Rollins on March 28, 1930, in Shawnee. June was a member of the El Reno Study Club, Retired Teachers Association and First Baptist Church.

El Reno High School’s girls basketball team played in the Class 5A state semifinals last week at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. Despite two noon games, the team had good support in the stands and courtside.

El Reno split games over the weekend with a 4-0 win over Clinton and an 11-3 loss to Chickasha. See Saturday’s edition for a wrap-up. El Reno will be back in action Thursday hosting games in the annual Union City Spring Break Festival.
