Strubhar plans to seek District Judge vacancy

Body

Special Judge Khristan Strubhar said she intends to seek the office of District Judge, after current Canadian County District Judge Jack McCurdy’s decision not to file for re-election.

“I respect Judge McCurdy’s wisdom, guidance and leadership, both as an attorney who’s appeared in his courtroom and as a judicial colleague who’s worked alongside him and benefited from his mentorship,” Strubhar said.

“Now I am asking the voters for the privilege to walk in his footsteps.”

McCurdy: Family time reason for decision to step down

Body

After much discussion with my family, especially my 3-year-old granddaughter who wants to “play with Papa more,” I have decided I will not be running for re-election to the position of District 2 District Judge of Canadian County.

I will truly miss serving the citizens of Canadian County, but I feel that the judiciary in this county is one of the best in the state and I will be leaving it in great hands. I feel now is the time to devote myself to other things.
