Body The University of Central Oklahoma recently announced honor rolls for the spring 2020 semester. To be recognized on the President’s Honor Roll, a student must have achieved a 4.0 GPA, with those named to the Dean’s Honor Roll earning a 3.5 GPA or better for the semester.

Body Spring semester honor rolls at Northwestern Oklahoma State University have been announced. Those on the President’s Honor Roll earned all A’s or a 4.0 grade point average. Those on the Vice President’s Honor Roll had grade point averages of 3.5 or better.

Body After years of keeping Parkinson’s at bay, Paul Newell Hauser passed on May 30, 2020, in Overland Park, Kan., at the age of 85. Paul was born Oct. 3, 1934, in Kingfisher to father, Albert W. Hauser and mother, Thelma Oakes, who predeceased him.

Body Loyd Eichholz passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. He was the youngest son of Robert and Johanna (Engbrecht) Eichholz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia, and sisters, Martha Eichholz, Elda Kisner and Bertha Harriage.

Body Funeral services for Opal (Jean) James will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020, at First Christian Church in Calumet with Rev. Tim Clausing officiating. Burial will follow in the Canadian Valley Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Body El Reno held a town hall meeting last week to discuss how police and city officials interact with citizens. About 30 people attended the Thursday evening meeting at the Centre Theatre. A number of them spoke about issues or concerns they have.

Body Blessing Baskets and The Lord’s Harvest began the annual Families with Children Summer Food Program in early June. The effort to feed El Reno and area families during the summer months first began in 2012, said Blessing Baskets coordinator Donna Dyer.

Body Gayla Lutts knows a thing or two about disasters and how to handle them. She’s worked through two major disasters in the past eight years. Lutts, superintendent of Canadian Valley Technology Center, discussed “Leadership During a Disaster” at a recent meeting in Yukon.
