Freihofer Casting will hold an open call for extras in El Reno, OK this Sunday, November 3, from 12:00-5:00 pm, looking for extras to appear in the feature film “13 MINUTES”. The film is set to begin filming in the El Reno area this fall.
The open call will be held in the Auditorium of El Reno High School, 407 W Choctaw, El Reno, OK. Participants are asked to use the west entrance.
While a cutting north wind and rain spitting off and on cut the groundbreaking ceremony for the new SSM Health Saint Anthony Healthplex short, it didn’t dampen the excitement.
The event attracted several dozen people to the Crossroads Pointe development where the healthplex will be built, including Sen. Lonnie Paxton, R-Tuttle, and Rep. Rhonda Baker, R-Yukon.
El Reno Mayor Matt White called it a “great day for health care in El Reno.”
“This is going to be just what El Reno needs and deserves,” White said.
Patricia Horn Morgan McBride passed away Oct. 30, 2019, in Oklahoma City. She was born March 4, 1933, in Sayre to George Edward Horn and Ola Faye Boyd Horn. They lived in the Delhi community and moved to Erick in 1948.
Patricia was a forward on the Erick Bearcats girls basketball team and was active in the Lasso Pep Club and FHA. She and John Barney (JB) Morgan were married in August, 1950, in Erick.
While not the victors, El Reno High School’s softball team got its fair share of the spoils during postseason voting among league coaches.
El Reno, as district runner-up, earned seven total honors during the balloting – including two superlative awards – for the 2019 All-District 5A-1 Softball Teams.
Two teams were selected and players were picked according to position. Thirteen players were honored with first-team selections and 15 more earning second-team laurels.
