El Reno, it would appear, is becoming a destination for moviemakers.
A number of films have been shot in the city over the years. Major films such as Rain Man and Elizabethtown as well as I Can Only Imagine featured scenes shot in El Reno.
Now, just this past month, two more - Stillwater with Matt Damon and 13 Minutes with Trace Adkins - have found El Reno attractive for movie-making.
OKARCHE – Two of the most successful small-school basketball teams in western Oklahoma renewed their annual rivalry last week and as expected, it was an edge-of-the-seat affair for four periods.
Calumet High School’s girls basketball team used a late 5-0 run to pull away from Okarche’s girls squad for a 53-46 victory in a game in which neither team led by more than eight points.
Memorial service for Lloyd M. Corlee of Norman will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, at Ellison Avenue United Methodist Church in El Reno with Cydni Tillery officiating. Interment will be in the Fort Sill National Cemetery.
Wake service for Elizabeth Ann Shawnee will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Concho Community Hall. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Concho Community Hall. Burial will be in the Concho Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
Elizabeth died Nov. 10, 2019, at Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was born Nov. 23, 1970, in Lawton and was raised in Belgium. After graduating, she returned to Oklahoma, moving to Geary and then to Oklahoma City. She worked as a hair stylist.
Graveside services for Juanita June (Teal) Argo of Oklahoma City were held Friday at the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco with Rev. Bob Hines officiating. Services were under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.
Juanita passed away Nov. 12, 2019, at her home. She was born June 10, 1931, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was raised in the Cogar community, moving to Oklahoma City in 1961.
She was a homemaker and at one time had worked as a factory seamstress.
Mass of Christian Burial for William J. Fehmer of Minco will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Union City. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.
Mr. Fehmer died Nov. 9, 2019, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born March 25, 1956, in Chickasha. Billy was raised in the Minco community and attended Minco schools. He later served in the Army National Guard.
Billy was employed in trucking and transport for over 40 years.
