Body

On June 4, the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes signed an agreement with the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) to place tribal property located in Geary into trust status.

This was the C&A’s first successful effort to place land into trust since the Tribes Constitution was ratified in 2006.

“The tribes have a long history of trying to place purchased lands into trust status for self-determination and to improve the tribes’ economic development,” said Cheyenne and Arapaho Gov. Reggie Wassana.
