Late-blooming plants provide colorful touch in many gardens

As the garden was winding down last fall, I noted the plants that were performing valiantly and planned to include them again this year.

Fortunately, some had saved their show for the end of the season, indicating perhaps the best had been saved for last.

The colors of the late bloomers seemed deeper and more vibrant, as though the stressful conditions of the summer heat gave them an extra boost.

Canadian Valley Technology Center will open Aug. 13 with students at all three area campuses.

Administrators will follow the guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and that of both the Oklahoma Department of Education and the state Department of Health. All of these departments encourage in-person education at this time.

Did you see the video of the frontline medical doctors explaining why they believe hydroxychloroquine is effective in treating COVID-19?

About a dozen doctors stood on the steps of the nation’s Capitol last week and praised the drug as being a safe and inexpensive treatment for the disease that has paralyzed the U.S.A. and much of the world for the past five months.

The event did not draw much of a media response.
