Sell excessive state assets to shore up state pensions

Oklahoma’s government owns a lot of property. This includes land and buildings, but it also includes valuable assets like the state-owned electric power company, the Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA). GRDA reports nearly $1.8 billion in assets on its most recent balance sheet, with a “net position” of more than $622 million. Or the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET), which has a $1.2 billion endowment producing roughly $50 million annual investment income.

Jon Edwin Morrison, 72, passed away unexpectedly, Aug. 10, 2020, in Denton, Texas. 

He was a devoted son, brother and proud father of Susanne Christine Morrison. Jon was the youngest of 10 children of Claude and Mary Morrison. He was raised on their family farm in Union City. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Union City, and served as an altar boy.

El Reno High School’s football team ran through some quick passing game scenarios during practice last week. The Indians were working through the sixth of eight two-a-day practices. The Indians were scheduled to end two-a-day practices on Thursday and put on the pads for the first time on Friday.
