Martha Raye (McMichael) Hall was born to Carroll and Florence McMichael on July 31, 1940, in Blackjack, Texas, and passed away Aug. 20, 2020, in Yukon.

Martha graduated from Galena Park High School in 1958. On March 20, 1959, she married the love of her life, Wayne Hall, and together they had two children.

Martha loved the Lord and enjoyed attending Highland Baptist Church. She loved being there with her church family and was blessed to have them in her life.

Graveside services for Lois Mae Markle of Oklahoma City will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2 in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco.

Lois passed away Aug. 25, 2020, at the Sommerset Assisted Living Center in Oklahoma City. She was born Aug. 26, 1921, in Ralston. Lois was raised in the Ralston community and graduated from Ralston High School in 1939. She had operated Markle’s Grocery in Minco.

She is survived by her son, Steve Warren of Checotah; daughter, Sandra Walker of Moore; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

El Reno student tests positive for COVID-19

El Reno Public Schools put out a statement Monday afternoon that a student, the first since classes resumed Aug. 20, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The unnamed student, according to the release, was believed to have accessed El Reno High School, Etta Dale Junior High's gymnasium and the Canadian Valley Technology Center.

What looked to be a blowout at the start of the third period turned out to be an overtime thriller as El Reno High School’s football team defeated Class 4A's Cache 42-35 to kick off the 2020 season.

El Reno junior Kade Mayo picked off a pass from Bulldogs’ quarterback Hunter Glenn on Cache's first play of overtime to seal the win for the Indians.
