To the Editor:
Our community is still reeling from the heartbreaking loss of Sgt. Duran, a true hero who gave his life protecting us. In response to this tragedy, we are coming together to create a Memorial Mural that will honor his sacrifice and the dedication of all our local law enforcement officers.
This mural will serve as a place of healing and remembrance for Officer Duran, his family and the entire community.
It took only a few minutes for El Reno High School’s football team to dash any notions of a letdown after being eliminated from the playoffs a week earlier.
El Reno closed out its 2025 campaign with a 54-0 shutout of Western Heights to finish with a 4-6 overall record.
The shutout was the third in a row over the Jets and the seventh in the series dating back to 1972.
El Reno has now won seven straight games over Western Heights and closed the District 5A-2 race in fifth place with a 3-4 record.
