El Reno High School’s boys wrestling team, starting the 2026 portion of its schedule unranked, outwrestled Class 5A’s 15th-ranked Newcastle, coached by former EHS skipper Tyrone Lewis, on the mat.

However, it was the matches on paper that cost El Reno the victory.

“We won seven of the nine matches wrestled but we had to forfeit four weights due to injuries.

“That was 24 points we could not come back from,” said El Reno head coach Anthony McDonald of his team’s 41-37 loss to the Racers.

El Reno slipped to 1-2 on the dual season.

Starting Jan. 10, the Caldwell Collection at Mustang Field will be open to the public every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The aviation museum opened Oct. 4 of last year.

Located inside a restored 1943 World War II hangar at El Reno Regional Airport, formerly known as Mustang Field, the museum showcases a growing collection of rare antique aircraft from the Golden Age of Aviation. The collection highlights aircraft from the 1920s and 1930s, including planes used to train pilots during World War II, paying tribute to Mustang Field’s role in preparing America’s aviators.
