Child Sex Abuse Material Bill passes House

Body

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma House Rep. Melissa Provenzano, D-Tulsa, passed HB 3936 off the House floor last week, which changes the term “Child Pornography” to “Child Sex Abuse Material" in statute.

“The word pornography suggests that children can consent, which they cannot. Every image depicting what we call ‘Child Pornography’ is a crime scene. This bill makes a necessary clarification on the legal term ‘Child Pornography’ and better defines what the material actually is,” Provenzano said.
